PDF - Portable Document Format:
A file format created by the Adobe Corporation that has now become mainstream for both the internet, computing and print ready platforms.
SWF - Shock Wave Flash:
Intended to be small enough for publication on the web, SWF files can contain animations or applets of varying degrees of interactivity and function. SWF is also sometimes used for creating animated display graphics and menus for DVD movies, and television commercials.
FLV - FLash Video:
File Format now used the world over to "stream" movies and television via the internet. Superior compression and detail make it possible to embed these into VCAB
VCAB - Virtual Catalogue and Brochure:
Web based format powered by Blue Saturn Media's FlexiPage technology. Allows PDF conversion to real time 3D page turning.
FTP - File Transfer Protocol:
FTP can be thought of as one of the founding members of the Internet. This protocol has very basic functionality, but is swift, enabling simple uploads.
HTTP - HyperText Transfer Protocol:
The underlying protocol used by the World Wide Web. HTTP defines how messages are formatted and transmitted, and what actions Web servers and browsers should take in response to various commands
XML - eXtenisble Markup Language:
XML is designed especially for Web documents. It allows designers to create their own customized tags, enabling the definition, transmission, validation, and interpretation of data between applications and between organizations.
