Q. What format would streaming media need to be in?
| A. | The file will need to be a flv , swf or mp3, anything other than these will need to be converted before uploaded. |
| Q. | I have completed your Free Trial and I need to change the currency from £ to $, how do I do that? |
| A. | Using your login details from the email you have been sent. Login to the control panel and you will see an option to change the currency. |
Q. How do I embed the VCAB onto my website?
| A. | Login to the control panel and you can copy the HTML coding. There you will also see step by step instructions of how to embed to your website. |
| Q. | Once I have activated my VCAB how long will it be live? |
A. Your VCAB will be live for one year.
Q. How will I know once my VCAB is about to expire?
A. You will receive an email reminding you your VCAB is due to expire.
Q. Should I wish to renew my VCAB for another year, how much will it cost?
A. The price will be £15.00, regardless of how many pages there are.
Q. How do I send my VCAB to people via email?
| A. | Once you have logged into the control panel, you can copy the link to your VCAB. You will then be able to paste this into the body of an email and send it to multiples of people. |
| Q. | If I purchase my VCAB online, will I be able to get an invoice marked as paid for my records? |
| A. | Yes, if you email admin@vcab.com stating how much you paid. Along with you login details an invoice will be created and sent marked as paid. |
| Q. | I used your free trial however I am still waiting for the email to preview my VCAB; please can you confirm when I will receive it? |
| A. | Essentially you should receive your email to preview your VCAB within a few minutes. However if you confirm with me the email address you used to complete the free trial and I will confirm that the process was successful. |
| Q. | Do we create the VCABs or do you do them for us? |
| A. | Depending on how you wish utilise the VCAB Solution. If you have the time and resources then you can create, edit and organise your VCABs yourself. Alternatively should you desire, you could supply us with your PDF and we create your VCABs from start to finish. |
| Q. | What sort of reporting do you offer? |
| A. | We provide VCAB Analytics. This is where you can see how long people have been on the website, what pages they have zoomed in on etc. We recently launched our fantastic new VCAB Analytics package. This will enable you see how many visitors and unique visitors are viewing your VCABs, along with which areas there are zooming in on. |
| Q. | Can you tell me what kind of software someone needs on the computer to view the page flipping version of a pdf? |
| A. | All that is required is Adobe Flash plug-in version 9 |
| Q. | Can I use VCAB on a MAC? |
| A. | Yes, the new Control Panel is fully compatible. |
| Q. | Are the VCABs hosted on your servers or ours? |
| A. | Essentially all VCABs are hosted on our servers. However should you wish to host your VCABs yourself this is certainly an option. Please bear in mind additional costs will be incurred. |
| Q. | What would we need to do to get set up as a Partner? |
| A. | Once payment has been made and a signed contract has been returned we can set up your account up within a matter of hours. Give us your credit card details and you will get access to the control panel where you are able to create, edit and move pages. |
| Q. | Is there a way to have the VCABs made private? |
| A. | Each time a VCAB is created it automatically goes into our directory, thus enhancing the probability it will be picked up in a search engine. However should you wish to prevent this happening then this can be achieved within the control panel. |
| Q. | I am trying to use your free trial, but get that any email address that I enter already exists. Can I only use the free trial once? |
| A. | When you initially used the free trial you should have received log in details within an email. You can use those login details to access the control panel. There you can create multiples of VCABs, thus keeping them together and organized. |
| Q. | Is VCAB available offline? |
| A. | Yes this is possible but it will be an additional cost per VCAB you wish to have offline. Should you require your VCAB offline, which essentially means Internet Explorer is not required then this is something we can do in house for you. We request 48 hours notice. Upon completion you will be sent a swf link. You can then download your VCAB to multiples and CD’s. Please note, each conversion will be charged accordingly. |
| Q. | How can I remove reference to VCAB within my VCAB? |
| A. | Re branding is xml driven and as a Premium or Certified Partner you can re brand the entire skin yourself. With the Advanced User all that can be re branded is the logo in the top left hand corner. Removing the “V” and replacing this with either yours or your client’s logo. |
Q. What happens to my VCABs should I decide not to renew my partner agreement?
| A. | If you decide not to renew the partner agreement, all your VCABs will remain live for one year from the date they were activated. So should you wish to not renew the partnership then you will still have the live links to your VCABs until they expire. The end of the partnership will mean you will no longer have access to the control panel, thus in turn will no longer have the ability to edit your existing publications. |
| Q. | Can you make changes to my VCABs within the control panel? |
A. Absolutely. You will have access to the control panel where you can make changes.
Q. Once the VCAB is embedded to my website, can I still make changes?
| A. | If you have already copied the HTML coding and embedded the VCAB to your website, then you make changes to the VCAB. The HTML coding will not change. It will simply update itself. |
Q. What file size do my PDFs need to be?
| A. | If you are uploading through a browser as a Standard or Advanced User then we recommend your file to be no larger than 15mb. Uploading anything larger may cause Internet Explorer to time out. If however you are uploading using FTP then there is no file size limitation. |
| Q. | Once I become a Partner will I be able to change the URL so it is more bespoke to clients Company? |
| A. | This is a feature of the Certified Partner. Once you have your domain name, you wish the URL to state you would then point it to the following IP address: 78.136.1.178. We will then complete the set up. |
Q. Do you offer re branding as a service in house?
| A. | Should you not have the time or the resources then re branding is a service we can offer. Please see the following link to our pricing: http://link.vcab.com/?skin_GBP Please note these prices are to be used as a guide and each job specification will be quoted accordingly. |
| Q. | My VCAB is targeted at an Arabic audience, so I will require the VCAB to start of the last page and flip through to the right. Is this possible? |
| A. | Yes this is possible. All that is required is amending the URL accordingly. You will have your link and you will need to add &vcabpage=12 (the number at the end is last page number of your VCAB). |
| Q. | I uploaded a landscape PDF when I used the free trial; however when I looked at my preview it is all squashed in portrait format. Can this be changed? |
| A. | Yes, we can change the dimensions for you in house. Please supply the dimensions you require in pixels. |
